House Move Price Estimates in Leicester & Leicestershire

These example prices are a budget guide for local house and flat moves. They’re calculated from our hourly removals rate for 2 movers + van and typical time ranges for straightforward moves.

Hourly rate (VAT included): £89 per hour (2 movers + van)

Minimum booking: 2 hours (£178)

After the minimum, time is billed in 5-minute increments, so you only pay for the time actually used.

These ranges assume a local move — travel time between addresses is included in the total time.

These estimates are for the move only (loading, travel between addresses, and unloading). 

Packing/unpacking isn’t included in the example time ranges.

If you need help with some packing, we can sometimes assist — it’s charged separately and agreed in advance.

Your final cost depends on time on the day. The biggest factors are:

How much you have to move (volume of boxes and furniture)

How well packed and ready you are when we arrive

Access: stairs, narrow hallways, awkward turns, no lift

Parking distance / long carries to the van

Multiple stops (e.g., storage unit on the way)

Dismantling/reassembly (beds/wardrobes) and any tricky items

If access is easy and you’re ready, the move can be quicker than the ranges above.

Because we price house moves by time worked, the best way to reduce the total cost is to reduce the time needed on the day.

Most customers save money by:

Having everything packed and ready before we arrive (boxes sealed and labelled)

Disassembling simple furniture in advance where possible (or keeping fixings together in a labelled bag)

Clearing hallways and staircases so items can be moved without delays

Reserving the closest safe parking to reduce carry distance

Keeping high-priority items clearly identified so we can load and unload efficiently

Confirming access details early (stairs, lifts, parking restrictions, loading bays)

Reducing extra stops where possible (each stop adds time)

Moving small, fragile and high-value items yourself where possible (documents, jewellery, laptops, small breakables and TVs). This reduces handling time and helps avoid damage to personal high-value items.
