A 2-hour minimum applies to standard pre-booked moves — £118 for the 1-man service or £178 for the 2-man team. We also offer a 1-hour minimum (£59) for local 1-man jobs of up to 3 items within Leicester city booked on the same day.

After your minimum is met, time is billed fairly in 5-minute increments so you only ever pay for the actual time worked. There is no per-trip charge; if your move needs more than one van load, the clock simply keeps running without any hidden fees.

• ​Fridge & Freezer Care: Units must be empty and defrosted. Since our L2H2 van is a high-roof (but not an extra-high top), tall fridges may need to travel lying down. Important: You must wait at least 3 hours before switching them back on to allow the compressor fluids to settle.

• Washing Machines: We can disconnect these if the water isolation tap is working. If the tap is seized or brittle, we cannot safely unplumb it due to leak risks. Note: We cannot disconnect hardwired electric or gas ovens.

• ​Stage to the Ground Floor: Stairs add the most time to any job. Moving boxes and small furniture to the ground floor or garage before we arrive is a massive time-saver.

• ​Keep Lids Flat: Please ensure box tops are flat and taped shut. Bulging lids mean we can’t stack items on top safely. Flat lids allow us to create a stable, secure load.

• ​Bags for "Gaps": Strong, closed bags (like laundry bags or heavy-duty bin bags) are perfectly fine for clothing, bedding, and soft items. These are actually helpful as they let us fill in small gaps in the van! Please do not use bags for fragile or heavy items.

• Weight & Consistency: Try to keep boxes at a manageable weight. Using uniform-sized boxes is a huge bonus—they stack perfectly and keep the load stable.

• ​TVs & Delicate Items: Flat-screen TVs are best in their original boxes. Without them, we must use extra blankets and securing time, which adds to the clock.

• ​Space for the Van: Ideally, we need a parking spot about 1.5 car lengths right outside your door. This provides a safe "loading zone" at the back of the van and keeps the carry distance short.

• Keeping it Simple: We always aim to park legally. However, if no legal parking is available and we receive a parking fine while carrying out your move, the cost of the ticket will be added to your final balance.

We received a call on a Friday afternoon from a customer in Swadlincote (DE11) who was in a tough spot. A standard delivery company had abandoned a massive American fridge freezer at the end of her side alleyway near the garden entrance because they couldn't figure out how to get it inside.

We assessed the situation and decided the best approach was to take the fridge doors off to reduce its depth. Because the alleyway was too cramped to work in, we first used our heavy-duty sack truck to wheel the appliance all the way out to the front of the house just to get enough space to safely remove the doors.

We initially hoped to bring it straight through the front door, but a quick inspection ruled that out. The kitchen door was immediately to the right of the main hallway and obstructed by a structural pillar, making the turning angle physically impossible.

We pivoted to plan B and wheeled the now-doorless fridge all the way back down the alleyway to the rear garden entrance. This access point featured a very tight 45-degree turn. Even with the doors removed, trying to swing the appliance around that corner on the sack truck wasn't going to work. The problem wasn't the width—it was the length. To move a sack truck, you have to lean the load back. Leaning a massive American fridge back drastically extends its horizontal profile, which completely destroys your turning circle in tight spaces.

To solve the geometry problem, we switched to our Shoulder Dolly lifting straps. By carrying the fridge completely upright between our two-man team, we kept its profile as short as possible. This gave us the exact clearance we needed to safely step through the tight 45-degree turn and walk it straight through the back patio doors. Once it was safely in the kitchen, we reassembled the doors and maneuvered it into its final spot without a single scratch to the property.

This relocation to a 7-bedroom house in Northampton (NN1) is the ultimate example of how heavy customer preparation makes a massive move possible on an hourly rate.

​The pickup was at a duplex first-floor flat. When we arrived, the couple had already done an incredible amount of groundwork. They had dismantled all the large furniture, brought it down to the main floor, and were actively running the smaller boxes out while we worked.

​The main physical obstacle was a massive mattress left on the top floor of the duplex. It was physically too large to fit down the tight internal staircase flat. The customers had been trying to tie it in half using standard ropes, which rarely holds tension safely. We stepped in with our professional Bison Gear endless straps, securely folding and locking the heavy mattress in half so it could be easily and safely carried downstairs without springing open.

​At the delivery point, the efficiency continued. Moving into a 7-bedroom house can easily turn into chaos if the movers constantly have to stop and ask where things belong. Instead, the customers had clearly labeled all their boxes and gave us a quick tour upfront, pointing out exactly which rooms were bedrooms one through seven.

​This level of organization meant we could just walk in, drop the items in the correct rooms, and head straight back out to the van to maintain a steady, rapid pace all day. Completing a heavy move of this size requires stamina, but it was only achieved so efficiently because of the customer's groundwork.
