This November move involved relocating a customer from a 2-bedroom house in Coalville to a bungalow that was still being finished on moving day. 

The customer had already moved the majority of their smaller belongings themselves, leaving us to focus on the heavy and awkward items — two very heavy traditional-style wardrobes, assorted bedroom furniture, beds and mattresses, two large red leather sofas, a fridge, and a collection of smaller items to fill the gaps in the van efficiently.

The traditional wardrobes were too large to move in one piece down the staircase. 

We fully disassembled both units on the upper floor, brought each panel down safely, loaded them into the van, and transported them to the new property. 

Furniture disassembly and reassembly is included in our hourly rate — there is no separate charge for this service. 

The customer chose to reassemble the wardrobes themselves once settled, which is a practical option when time and cost are a consideration.

On the first trip, the front door of the bungalow had not yet been fitted — a common situation when moving into a newly finished or recently renovated property. 

We adapted and worked around this, unloading carefully in cold and dark November conditions to protect both the items and the property. By the second trip the door had been fitted.

We completed two full van loads between the properties. By the second trip, the customer's family had arrived to help and the majority of the heavy items were already in place. 

The customer was happy to take over from that point, and we finished the job at the natural stopping point — the hourly rate meant they only paid for the time we were actually there.

Our man and van service in Coalville is £69 per hour for a one-man service or £89 per hour for a two-man team, VAT included. 

A 2-hour minimum (£178 for two-man) applies to all Coalville and LE67 bookings. After the minimum, time is billed in 5-minute increments so you only pay for the time actually worked.

Coalville is an outlying area from our South Wigston base, so a 2-hour minimum applies to all bookings to cover travel costs while keeping our hourly rate consistent across Leicester and Leicestershire. This applies regardless of whether you book one man or two.

No. Basic dismantling and reassembly — such as wardrobes, bed frames, and dining tables — is included in the hourly rate.

No. Stairs are included in the hourly rate throughout. Whether you are moving from an upstairs room or navigating a tight staircase with large items, the rate stays the same.

No. Multiple van loads within the local area are included — you simply pay for the total time worked from arrival to final unload.

The clock starts when we arrive at your pickup address and stops when everything is in place at your delivery address. We do not charge for travel to your first address or for returning to base after the job.

Yes. We can move heavy leather sofas, American fridge freezers, and large traditional wardrobes throughout Coalville and LE67. 

We carry specialist equipment including shoulder dolly straps and a 900kg-rated piano dolly for heavy items.

Yes. We carry full goods-in-transit and public liability insurance for all work in Coalville and across North West Leicestershire.
