Our boxes use double-wall cardboard for greater resistance to crushing than standard single-wall boxes. This helps protect the contents during handling and stacking, provided each box is properly packed and sealed.

Their square shape makes them convenient to stack when properly filled and sealed. Avoid filling a large box entirely with books or other heavy items; distribute these between smaller boxes instead.
Our double-wall wardrobe boxes measure 20 × 17.75 × 48 inches (508 × 457 × 1,220 mm) and cost £17 each, including a hanging rail. They are suitable for shirts, jackets, suits, dresses and other garments you want to transport on their hangers.
Transfer clothes directly from your wardrobe onto the supplied rail, then hang them back up at your new home. This saves folding and unpacking and helps minimise creasing.
Built-in carry handles make the boxes easier to manoeuvre. Check that longer garments fit inside, and avoid overloading the rail with heavy clothing.
Use smaller boxes for books, plates and other dense belongings, and larger boxes for lighter, bulkier items such as bedding and cushions.
Each packed box should be comfortable for one person to lift. Excessive weight makes handling harder and puts more strain on the cardboard, taped seams and contents.
Wrap fragile items individually in clean packing paper or suitable tissue paper. Tissue can protect delicate surfaces, but a single thin sheet provides little cushioning. Use additional packing paper around breakable items.
Place crumpled paper at the bottom of the box, between items and around the sides. Fill gaps so glasses, cups and ornaments cannot knock together.
For example, pack wrapped plates upright on their edges, with cushioning underneath and between them. Pack glasses separately from heavy kitchenware, with paper around each glass.
Fill unused space with crumpled packing paper to reduce movement and help support the box when stacked.
The top flaps should close flat without force. Do not overfill the box, leave items sticking out or force the lid down onto its contents.
An underfilled box can crush beneath another box, while an overfilled box can bulge and strain the tape. Aim for a supported, level top without compressing fragile belongings.
Seal the bottom with strong packing tape before filling. Once packed, tape the top securely along the centre seam and across the edges.
Label the contents and destination room on the top and side, so the information remains visible when boxes are stacked. Mark breakable contents as “Fragile” and keep packed cardboard boxes dry to preserve their strength.
