An office clearance can contain several different types of waste. We can collect these items as part of the same clearance, but they do not necessarily follow the same disposal route or attract the same charges.

When preparing your quotation, we assess the furniture, electrical equipment and appliances shown in your photographs or video. Your fixed quotation will then include the relevant labour, transport, specialist disposal charges and VAT.

Desks, tables, filing cabinets, pedestals, cupboards, bookcases, shelving and other non-upholstered office furniture are normally charged according to the quantity, volume and estimated disposal weight.

Furniture that remains usable and is legally suitable for reuse may be prioritised for reuse or donation where practical. The remainder is taken to an appropriate licensed commercial waste facility.

Office chairs, reception sofas, upholstered meeting chairs and breakout seating may require a specialist Persistent Organic Pollutants, or POPs, disposal route because of fire-retardant chemicals used in some upholstery and foam.

POPs disposal is charged differently from ordinary non-upholstered furniture disposal. The additional cost depends on the type and quantity of the seating.

Please show or list  all upholstered seating clearly when requesting a quotation so that any applicable POPs charges can be included from the beginning.

Computers, monitors, printers, display screens, telephones, routers, cables and other unwanted electrical equipment are classed as Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment, commonly known as WEEE.

WEEE is taken through an appropriate electrical recycling or treatment route. Disposal charges can vary according to the type, size and quantity of equipment. Monitors, televisions, photocopiers and other larger electrical items may be priced individually.

Our standard service does not include certified data destruction. Businesses should remove or securely erase confidential information from computers, hard drives, phones and other data-bearing equipment before collection unless a specialist service has been arranged separately.

Office fridges, under-counter fridges, fridge-freezers and other cooling appliances require specialist treatment because they contain refrigerants and other regulated components.

Fridges are therefore subject to a separate disposal charge, usually calculated per appliance. Large commercial fridges, drinks chillers and other commercial refrigeration equipment must be assessed individually before we can confirm collection and pricing.

Certain items may require an additional disposal route or a specialist contractor. These can include large photocopiers, commercial refrigeration equipment, fluorescent tubes, loose batteries, toner cartridges and unusually large quantities of electronic equipment.

We do not collect asbestos, chemicals, paint, liquids, gas cylinders, clinical waste or unidentified hazardous materials.
